A Christian’s View Of 2022 - #2
It’s just getting on its feet - still unsteady and unstable - the Prophets are still fine- tuning the “word”; the numerologist is still deciphering the “2022 code” - it’s the annual array of figuring out the future, trying to biblically balance the coming Calendar.
Turning from all this, the Christian sets His view on the Father - His Faithfulness, His Favour and His Fellowship.
Faithfulness - ah, His consistent care for His Own. His commitment is contingent on His character.
Jeremiah framed God’s faithfulness in this now famous phrase …
Lamentations 3:19-24 NLT
The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
Suffering and homelessness…bitterness and loss …going through an awful time???
The Prosperity Gospel knows nothing of this.
God’s faithfulness does not shield us from the awful times - it gently, even joyfully, shepherds us through them.
Favour - ah, the pleasure of the Lord is on His Own. The Father delights in our prayers and praise. It is not earned by human effort, is not won by human works - It has appeared - it is the disposition of Heaven toward us -
Titus 2:11 - KJV
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
This is the year of His favour …
Fellowship - ah, the intimacy and interaction of The Father with His Own. This is the ultimate and eternal purpose of God in Christ.
John’s epistle jumps at the idea …
1 John 1:4,6-7
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanest us from all sin.
2022 is not the Devil’s workshop. The year that lies ahead has a destiny that is spiritually sacred and significant.
It is the year of His faithfulness and His favour and His fellowship.
We are in the year of our Lord - 2022!
