A Christian’s View of 2022
A year filled with fear … that’s one viewpoint.
One might wonder if there is any sense in saying “Happy New Year!”
So much seems to be on an endless loop. The public health orders, restrictions, lockdowns and COVID 19 variants. A two week “ flatten the curve” time line has evolved into two years filled with debate, division, disconnection and death.
Controversy and conspiracy have become a cruel reminder of just how fragile faith and family really are.
The New Year does not come unhinged from heaven’s sovereignty; nor independent of God’s eternal throne. The months ahead are not maverick - running wild and with their own unaccountable agenda.
The Christian view is not blurred, blind or blocked. No, we see with a clear eye. Our focus is not fixed on the fear- mongers, not frozen in the head lights of all the bad news and not frightened because of the agenda of those who know not God nor His Word.
As a Christian, I choose Jesus’ focus on the future. Christ’s calendar is unfolding right on time. He does not deal in the tactics and treachery of Satan’s kingdom - deception, destruction and darkness.
2022 - will be no exception - it will bow before the Lordship of God’s Son. The Devil is NOT in the details. Every detail, every devil, every dictator and every day - from January 1 to December 31 - is already determined by the foreknowledge and predestination of the Ancient of Days!
Romans 8:38-39. NLT
Tells what is true about 2022 …
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So, what can we do about 2022?
Can we change just one thing by our worry?
Are we in control? Is there peace in our soul?
Things are happening in such a hurry!
Let’s not forget … Every promise He’s kept
He is faithful to meet all our needs
When all’s said and done the blood of God’s Son
Is our only protection to plead.
Is hope still alive? Will we still survive?
What’s the answer to all this trouble?
God loves you and 2022
Will not implode even though the trouble seems double.
And above all of “this”, one thing we can’t miss
Is the truth that He’s coming again
The trumpet will sound, in Christ we’ll be found
When all else is loss - there’s hope at the cross
This Promise will forever remain. RBL
Yes, let me say it with feeling and faith …
Happy New Year to you!!
